Zemestauki

Zemestauki (Phallus impudicus), vērtīgā sēne, kas līdzinās fallam, aug arī Latvijas mežos, vairāk Kurzemes pusē. Tomēr ne katram sēņotājam ir laimējies to redzēt, jo sēne mīl brikšņus un vientulību. Sēnes augļkermenis atgādina olu, kas pildīta ar recekļainu masu. No tās apbrīnojamā atrumā izaug sēne ar pelēkbrūnu cepurīti. Izaugusi sēne izdala ļoti nepatīkamu smaku.

Zemestaukus izmanto tikai olas stadijā, un to var ēst svaigu.

Neskatoties uz to, ka zemestauki tautas medicīnā tiek izmantoti jau izsenis, īpašu uzmanību sēne ir izpelnījusies tikai 20. gadsimtā. Pilnveidojoties izmeklējumu tehnoloģijām, mikrobiologi pēta sēnes īpašības, un ierindojuši starp pārējiem sēņu produktiem kā līdzvērtīgu.
